How does Cryofos Work?

The simple answer: When you recieve Cryotherapy, we essentially project a very cold, fine mist on to the sore area and reduce the temperature of the skin down to about 34 degrees Fahrenheit. This causes the affected area to experience thermal shock which can reduce pain and cause deep dilation cleaning out the histamines and prostaglandins.

The technical answer: From its pressurized tank, Cryofos transforms medical Co2-gas from a liquid to a fine spray which makes contact with the patients skin at -78 degrees celcius lowering the patients skin temperature to 4 and 2 degrees within 30 seconds!

This near instant temperature change is known as thermal shock and this is what generates a neuroreflexive response which results in an increase of blood flow to the area treated.

The process of Cryostimulation, stimulates the body’s own neuroreflexive responses in order to combat pain.  Cryotherapy has become a popular treatment for both chronic and acute pain because the procedure is pain free and fast.
